
Allie Gross is the Communications Manager at the American Economic Liberties Project. Previously, she was an investigative reporter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, an investigative news producer at the ABC affiliate in Detroit, a business reporter at the Detroit Free Press and a features reporter at the Detroit Metro Times. Her reporting has appeared in The New Republic, VICE News, Slate, Jacobin, The Atlantic, FiveThirtyEight, and Mother Jones, where she was a Ben Bagdikian Fellow. Allie was named Young Journalist of the Year by SPJ-Detroit in 2019, was a Livingston Award finalist in 2020, and was a finalist for the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award in 2024. Before journalism, she was a fifth-grade teacher in Detroit for three years. Allie is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and is originally from Los Angeles.
