Nidhi Hegde is the Executive Director of the American Economic Liberties Project, which she helped launch as an independent organization in 2020 and grow into a leading voice in the antimonopoly movement. She previously held several leadership roles at Economic Liberties, including Managing Director and Director of Strategy and Programs.
Before joining Economic Liberties, Nidhi was COO and Senior Advisor at the Open Markets Institute, leading organizational strategy and operations. She brings a background in business strategy and consulting, having worked at the Monitor Group and FSG, where she helped companies design and implement strategies to launch products and services aimed at lower-income segments of the market, and major philanthropic foundations and development agencies to scale market-based approaches to social impact across the United States, South Asia, and Africa. She later joined the Omidyar Network, working at the intersection of tech platforms, regulation, and impact investing, where she examined the harms of market concentration on consumers, workers, and businesses.
Nidhi holds a Master’s in Public Affairs from the Goldman School of Public Policy at UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s in Business from the University of Virginia.
