Victoria Freire is a policy analyst at the American Economic Liberties Project. Prior to joining Economic Liberties, she completed a research fellowship with the Energy and Policy Institute, a utility watchdog organization that exposes the harms posed by fossil fuel and monopoly utility interests. There, she tracked the influence of utility corporations through numerous campaign finance and ethics disclosure investigations, monitoring gas industry front groups, sorting through regulatory filings, while identifying record corporate profits and executive pay.
Victoria became involved in investigative research as a fossil fuel divestment organizer, aiding in the discovery of millions of dollars in fossil fuel funding to universities nationwide alongside organizations such as Data for Progress, Campus Climate Network (formerly Fossil Free Research), and UnKoch My Campus. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international affairs and history from the George Washington University.
